You got an Error when I run the installer or unpack the file ?

Corrupt files are not really that common, but occasionally, everyone can get one. When a file has an error, it was probably resumed during downloading too many times and some bytes got lost during the stops. This also happens when a file isn't completely downloaded, or if you used a “download accelerator”.

LinPlug is hosting all its downloads on its European Server. This server is up to date and well equipped. Its connected to the web with far more than sufficient bandwidth and backed up with a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply). Its downtime is typically 3 hours per year. Very big files are also hosted on a similar spec’d server in the USA for our customers in North- and South-America. And all files on the server are usually downloaded and installed by hundreds of customers already, so the files are OK!

If a download fails its 99.99% not a problem of our servers or installers, keep this in mind when troubleshooting a download.

TIPS

Don’t use “download accelerators”, they increase the chance of corrupted files.

For customers using Microsoft® Windows® we recommend use of the Mozilla Firefox Browser, version 3 or later as from our experience it offers the most reliable operation.

 On Mac just use Safari

When you get an error, try to re-download the file. This will usually clear up any trouble.

Never use a wireless connection to download. Also wireless local networks can cause many (unnoticed) trouble because the connection can be dropped often and you don’t notice it.
Use a wire connection to download.

Maybe that your ISP (internet service provider) caches data and the cached copy of the installer is corrupted. In this case it's best to download a few days later.

If your internet connection is slow or unreliable, maybe you can use a friends internet access to download the file.
