AU2006_50

All our instruments are AU and VST 2.0 plug ins (Albino 3 and Organ 3 are also RTAS on Mac). To use our instruments you need

1. a Mac with at least Mac OSX 10.2.6 or a PC with at least Windows 98 (Windows XP recommended)
2. a compatible host software

Compatibility means that two products are able to interact with each other. In our case this means that both, our instruments and the host software (sequencer) must match the AU or VST specification. Some points of this specification are not supported by all hosts, so please take a look at our comments below.

Sony ACID

What’s not working

An instrument is not detected by ACID (mainly after updating to new version)

Tips & Tricks

Acid is not scanning again properly after an install. Go to run on the start menu, type regedit, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sony Media Software\ACID Pro\nnn\Metrics\VSTi Synth\ and delete the "plugs" entry. That will force acid to rescan all plugs/fx on the next startup. Doing so also helps if you uninstall a synth/effect yet it remains listed in acid.

FL Studio 4 and up

What’s not working

FL Studio has its own method of assigning MIDI Controllers to parameters so you can’t use ECS (Easy Controller Setup). Generally MIDI-CC’s are a bit complicate to route to VST’s

Tips & Tricks

Also the Pitch Bend range in the Channel Settings of Fruity must be 12 to not reduce the Pitch-Bend range settings of our instruments.

To save all settings of our instruments the wrapper must be configured to “Allow program editing”.

Orion

What’s not working

FL Studio has its own method of assigning MIDI Controllers to parameters so you can’t use ECS (Easy Controller Setup). Generally MIDI-CC’s are a bit complicate to route to VST’s.
MIDI drag/drop is not supported by Orion so RM IV MIDI grooves cannot be used directly.

Tips & Tricks

To use ECS Orion has to be set to use MIDI-CC as Automation: In the instruments window click on Opt->Config -> Automation-Type->MIDI-CC.

Make sure Options/OutputDeviceSettings/EngineSettings/AlwaysRunning is checked so that the pads of RM III, RM IV and the keyboard of CronoX and daOrgan is working.
